Moving home doesn't always go to plan, and sometimes your sale and purchase don't complete on the same day. If that happens, storage gives your belongings somewhere to sit in between, so the two dates don't have to line up perfectly.
How storage fits into your move
Storage is not a separate product. It is what happens when the dates do not line up.
Your sale completes on a Friday and your purchase on the following Tuesday. A rental tenancy ends mid-month but the new place is not ready until the start of next month. Or you have already sold and need to be out, with nowhere to go yet.
In those situations, storage bridges the gap. We load your belongings into a secure crate in our warehouse on move-out day and deliver them to your new address when you are ready. You pay for the time your items are with us, nothing more.
It means you do not have to turn down a completion date because the other end is not ready. You take the date that works for the sale, and the storage holds the middle.
Storage alongside your move
Storage works best when it is part of a wider removal plan.
Most of our storage customers also use one or more of the following:
- House removals — we load, transport and unload your belongings as part of the same job, whether you are moving across Newcastle or across the country.
- Packing services — anything going into storage should be packed properly, since it will sit longer than it travels. Our packers use double-walled cartons, wardrobe boxes and acid-free tissue, and label everything by room so unloading is straightforward months later.
