Why choose Turton's for removals UK to Ireland
Move Assured accreditation means the way we work is checked against an independent standard rather than simply claimed. For a move that leaves the country, that distinction is worth more than it is on a local job.
Our 200+ five-star reviews across Google, Facebook and Trustpilot come from real households. The thing customers mention most often is the protection: floor rolls, door covers and staircase covers going down before anything is lifted, at both ends.
ThreeBestRated also places us among South Tyneside's top three moving companies at 114 out of 120 inspection points.
An Irish move has a handover point a domestic move does not. Your belongings are loaded once, cross by sea, and are unloaded at the other end, and everything in between depends on how well the load was planned and protected before it left. That is what the virtual survey, the room-by-room inventory and the standard protective materials are for.
What our UK to Ireland removals service includes
An Irish move runs as one coordinated operation from your front door in the North East to your new address across the water. We plan the route and the crossing as part of the overall job, and your belongings stay protected at every stage.
What's included
- Pre-move virtual survey via WhatsApp video, Zoom or live call to assess full volume before we quote
- Detailed room-by-room inventory before loading, which also gives you a record for the crossing
- Full pack, part pack, or fragile-only packing options to suit your situation
- Mattress bags, TV boxes, sofa covers, floor protection, door covers and picture covers included as standard
- Fragile and high-value items wrapped individually for a journey that includes a sea crossing
- Access checked at both ends before the day, covering parking, narrow streets, stairs, lifts and building time windows
- Furniture dismantling and reassembly included as standard
- Careful loading into modern, fully equipped vehicles
- Ferry crossing coordinated as part of the overall move plan
- Delivery and placement at your new Irish address
- Free no-obligation quote before anything is booked
What's NOT included
- Customs or import documentation for a move to the Republic of Ireland. Ireland is in the EU, so household goods travelling from Great Britain cross a customs border. Irish Revenue operates a relief for people transferring their normal residence, but whether it applies to you, and what paperwork it needs, is yours to confirm with Irish Revenue or a customs agent. We are not customs agents and cannot confirm your position
- Guaranteed ferry departure times or fixed delivery windows. Sailing schedules and availability sit outside our control, so we agree a realistic plan at survey stage rather than promising a date we cannot hold
- Clearance or disposal of items you are not taking. If you need that first, see our house clearance service
- Storage in Ireland. Our in-house warehoused storage is UK-based only
How our UK to Ireland removals service works
Request a quote
Fill in the online form or call 0191 809 0234 with your UK address, your Irish destination and a rough outline of what needs moving.
Virtual survey
One of the team walks through the property with you over WhatsApp video, Zoom or a live call, assessing volume, access and any specialist items at both ends.
Written quote
You receive a clear, itemised quote with no hidden charges. We do not quote fixed crossing costs we cannot hold, and we will tell you what is estimated and what is firm.
Packing day
Our crew arrives at your North East address with all protective materials and works through the inventory room by room.
Loading and crossing
Furniture is dismantled where needed, wrapped and loaded, then we coordinate the sea crossing as part of the plan and keep you updated along the way.
Delivery in Ireland
We unload, reassemble furniture and place items in the rooms you specify, then run a final inventory check with you.
Who this Service is for
This service suits anyone relocating from the North East, or anywhere in the UK, to Ireland. It covers families moving a full household, people relocating for work, and the many customers who are returning to Ireland after years in the UK.
We also move households to Northern Ireland, and it is worth saying plainly that this is a different job. Northern Ireland is part of the UK, so a move to Belfast or Derry is a domestic one. There is a sea crossing, but none of the customs considerations that apply to the Republic.
If your move involves a large volume, specialist furniture, or an address with difficult access at either end, the survey is where we plan around it.
